Oak Park, Il- One of the most gifted and distinguished lyric tenors of his generation, Matthew Polenzani has been praised for the artistic versatility and fresh lyricism that he brings to concert and operatic appearances. This January, for one night only, he will offer his most intimate performance yet at Village Players Theatre in Oak Park.
The night before he performs again at the Lyric in 'La Traviata,' Mr. Polenzani will sing a few arias, entertain a question and answer period with the audience, and attend a champagne and hor' d'vors reception immediately following. All proceeds will benefit Village Players Theatre.
Winner of the 2004 Richard Tucker Award, Mr. Polenzani has performed on such leading international stages as the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Teatro San Carlo of Naples, Rome Opera, Lincoln Center, New York Philharmonic and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

'An Intimate Evening with Matthew Polenzani' performs January 22, 2008, at 8 PM. All tickets are $50, including discussion, performance, and reception. Presented in the main stage space of the newly renovated Village Players Theatre located at 1010 W. Madison. Plenty of parking is available on the street.
