Village Players Theatre Oak Park's Center for Performing Arts
Concert Series Presents: Laurie Marchese, So Many Stars

Oak Park, IL- Village Players Theatre Concert Series Presents celebrated singer Laurie Marchese performing an elegant evening of song and inspiration with musical direction by Russ Long and directed by Suzy Petri. Featuring favorite standards and ballads celebrating the blessings of life. “Through the gift of song we remember that we are all here to help each other and there is no greater celebration of life than to pursue our dreams,” says Marchese.

Originally from Oak Lawn, Laurie is an ensemble member at Village Players Theatre and has performed professionally throughout Chicago and New York. She has appeared in the feature films My BodyGuard and The Roomate and has sung the national anthem at Wrigley Field, Cellular One Field and Soldier Field. And as a voice-over artist, Laurie has lent her voice to several national campaigns for both television and radio.

When asked why she decided to reignite her singing carreer, Laurie said, "Music has always been a window to the soul, for me and for others. After much encouragement from others, it became clear to me that sharing the songs that touch my soul is a way to touch the souls of others. I love to sing and I've come to a place in the life where I understand that what you love is what you're here to do."

Performance is Saturday,  October 20, 2007 at 8 p.m.. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by calling 866-764-1010 or online at www.village-players.org. Plenty of street parking is available. The theatre is handicap accessible.
