Doug Long

Doug LongMr. Long has directed more than 50 plays, including recent VPT productions of Chad Morton's TV Christmas Miracle and The Lady of Larkspur Lotion. During the 2006-2007 season, he will direct The Elephant Man and his own adaptations of Michael Martone short stories, Alive and Dead in Indiana. He has worked at several Chicago theatres, including Theatre Building Chicago, Victory Gardens, Bailiwick, Steppenwolf, Chicago Dramatists, Emerald City, Pegasus Players and North Shore Music Festival (Beverly, Mass.). In 2007, he will direct an evening of radio drama at the College of DuPage. As an actor, Doug's roles include Stanley in The Conversation (Pyewacket) and Mr. Pink in Reservoir Dogs (Azusa Productions). He teaches performance classes at DePaul University and a Meisner acting class at Victory Gardens. He earned an MFA in Directing and an MA in Theatre History and Research from Indiana University and bachelors degrees in Theatre and Journalism from Ball State University.
